2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the NZ Molecular Ecology conference. This year, it will be held in the beautiful Catlins (Southland) over the weekend of December 1-3. This 20th anniversary edition will be hosted by Otago University and is sponsored by Allan Wilson at Otago, and Genetics Otago.
The conference is a fairly relaxed, informal event, and the perfect opportunity for students to present their research and get helpful feedback. There will also be social events - a great chance to mix with other molecular ecologists working in New Zealand.
The Catlins will provide a stunning backdrop to the conference, with beautiful rugged beaches, lush native forest, and plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting.
Fees include accommodation for nights of Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd December, as well as all meals, and morning and afternoon tea.
Student travel grants will be available and there will be prizes for the best student presentation and poster.
